Expand Learning Through Teaching Technology…

… to Children

Our software development is centered around teaching children fine motor skills while engaging them in activities and games that are meaningful to them.  When used correctly, technology can create opportunities for learning that did not exist previously. Watching my children, I feel there is a gap in what the apps in today’s marketplace are doing.  I want to create ones that are interactive, using sounds and movement in ways that reinforce learning,

I see software as a tool, that when done right, can help accelerate learning.  This is true for my daughter Jasmine, with Down Syndrome, as well as my older daughter Nicole.

Our goal – to help children expand the tools in their learning toolbox by using modern technology responsibly so that they can reach their learning potential.  I hope that along the way, we may adapt our use of technology so that we start to think about teaching, and learning, differently.

As parents, we should feel good about what we are giving our children.  Our apps will try and fill that gap.

… and Adults

Software development and App development for toddlers is much more synergistic than one might initially think.  All of the movements, touch screen controls, the loading of images and fonts, all is real App development.  Creating a large App has much of the components as a small one.  Documenting the entire process should help those start-up developers too.

Why Stone Mill?

I grew up on a dairy farm called “Stone Mill Dairy.”  While I may have left the farm, it has never left me.  I truly believe my childhood on the farm has shaped me for the better.  It is my little way of saying thanks for the life changing experience.

Plug-Plug

Software development, even for a good cause, costs money.  Server time, software, artwork, and numerous other expenses exist.  By donating, not only will you be helping us educate tomorrow’s leaders, if you include your contact information, we will add you to our mailing  holiday mailing list.

Thank You for being part of this experience.
